TIFTON — After getting swept over the weekend in a Region XVII baseball series against Middle Georgia, the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Stallions bounced back Tuesday night with a 6-0 win over the South Georgia College Tigers.
Jacob Gore got the win for the Stallions as he pitched a complete game, struck out nine and walked two.
Alex Wyche and Dax Spriggs each had three hits for the Stallions on offense. Blake Lee had two hits and one RBI, and Brendan Hampton had a 2-run homer in the game.
ABAC will be at Darton Friday for a 6 p.m. league contest.
TIFTON — The Tift County Lady Devils soccer team went to 5-2 in the Region 1-AAAAA standings Tuesday night with a 6-1 home win over Houston County.
Kendall Couch and Blakely McClellan each had two goals for the Lady Devils. Kelly Murray also had a goal on an assist from Couch, and Ronni Smith added another score for Tift on a penalty kick.
The Lady Devils will play at Valdosta Friday at 6 p.m.
The outcome of Tuesday’s boys encounter between Tift and Houston was not known at presstime.

TIFTON — The Eighth Street Middle School Blue Devils went to 6-2 on the year earlier this week with a 19-9 win over Coffee Middle School.
Parks Casey, Alex Conway and Cole Janousek pitched for Eighth Street in the contest.
Janousek, Reed Domingue and Jordan Nipper each had two hits for the Devils. Casey, Zac Nimmo, Hayden Jones, Nick Utley and Guy McClung also had one hit apiece.
Eighth Street remains in a tie for first place in the South Georgia Athletic Conference standings.
