MEMPHIS — Connor Thomas is not currently considered one of the St. Louis Cardinals’ top 30 prospects. Major League Baseball may want to reconsider that following another strong outing of his at Class AAA Memphis.
On July 20, Thomas allowed a single earned run in six innings of work as the Redbirds held on for a 2-1 victory over the Louisville Bats. Thomas struck out five hitters.
Since arriving in Memphis, Thomas has posted a 5-0 record, with a minuscule 2.28 ERA. He has been effective in starts and in relief and has one save for the campaign. Thomas has 38 strikeouts in 47 innings and the opposition is hitting .232 against him.
In Everett, Wash., Cade Marlowe connected on his fifth homer since joining the AquaSox and now has 11 on the year. Marlowe started his season with the Modesto Nuts before being promoted. In 25 games with Everett, Marlowe has 29 RBIs and 26 hits.
