VALDOSTA -- Senior Janna Shiver pitched her third no-hitter of the season Thursday as the Tift County Lady Devils defeated the Valdosta Lady Wildcats, 7-0, in Region 1-AAAAA softball.

Shiver struck out 15 and walked two. She also was 3 for 4 with a double and one RBI at the plate.

Tift's only other senior, Imesha Wells, led the team at the plate. She went 3 for 4 with three doubles and two RBIs.

Rachel Segers was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs. Lakin Perryman was 2 for 3. Allie Parrish had a hit and Krysten Mangham had one RBI.

Tift (15-5, 5-1 in the region) will be back in action Tuesday at home against Coffee in a 5 p.m. 1-AAAAA game.

The Lady Devils' game with Colquitt County that was postponed this past Tuesday has been rescheduled for Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. in Moultrie.

Tift's junior varsity also played Thursday. The jayvee Lady Devils closed out their regular season with a 14-1 victory over the Lady Cats of Valdosta. The game was only three innings due to the "mercy" rule.

Kelsey Jones was the winning pitcher as she struck out three and walked one. She also had one hit and three RBIs at the plate.

Brooke Connell had one hit and three RBIs to help lead the offense. With one hit and one RBI apiece were Shabreka Carter, Brittany Courtoy and J.B. Dunn. Kendall Couch added one hit, while adding one RBI each were Samantha Robertson, Brittany Fore and Hannah Fox.

The jayvee Lady Devils finished at 6-2 on the year.
