TIFTON — Mark your calendar, get set and go to the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Red Hill Athletic Center Saturday. Tift County cross country is hosting the 30th annual Run for Love.

Run for Love will start at 7 p.m. First up will be the one-mile race, which will be followed by a 5K. The course takes runners around the ABAC campus and will begin at end at the Red Hill Athletic Center.

The top overall finisher in the one-mile run last year was Landon Johnson at 6:39. Taliyah Thomas was the fastest female at in 9:06. Dan Hobby won the 5K in an even 20 minutes, edging Emily Golden, who had a time of 20:10.

Registration for the one-mile run is $20, and $25 for the 5K. Running both costs $35 and there is a 5K family deal for $80. To register, visit active.com.

This is the first event of the cross country schedule. Tift County’s high school and middle school teams will go to Valdosta’s Freedom Park Aug. 17 for the Winnersville Cross Country meet.
