TIFTON — Tift County volleyball will make their first start of the 2019 season at home Tuesday night, taking on both Thomasville and Sherwood Christian. Matches are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Devils currently carry a 4-1 record into Tuesday. Their most recent victory was Thursday, when they defeated Thomas County Central. According to the squad’s Facebook page, they won the first two sets, 25-23 and 25-14 before dropping one, 19-25. Tift won the final set, 24-23.
Other victories this year have been over Highland Christian, Ware County and Hinesville-based Bradwell Institute.
Besides the home matches Tuesday, Tift is set to travel to Appling County Thursday to face Liberty County and Appling County. Their first region meet will be Saturday at Lowndes County. All Region 1 schools will play during this series.
Tift County is seeking a return to the state playoffs after having earned their way into the tournament a year ago.
