Malik Henry (11) tries to get around end during Tift's scrimmage Saturday.

SAN FRANCISCO — Former Tift County Blue Devil Malik Henry did not make the final cut for the San Francisco 49ers, but will remain close to the team.

Henry was cut when San Francisco went from 90 players to its final 53-man roster, but multiple sources are reporting that he has been signed to the squad’s practice squad.

As a member of the practice squad, Henry remains an integral part of the 49ers and is eligible to be called up to the main roster at any time. Ten players are retained for practice squads by each NFL team.
