Ashley Anders

TIFTON — Ashley Anders stepped down as Tift County’s head football coach last December, but Blue Devils fans will continue to see him.

Anders announced Thursday that he has taken a job at Colquitt County, where he will be co-defensive coordinator for head coach Justin Rogers.

As Tift head coach, Anders went 35-31, with state quarterfinals appearances in 2017 and 2018. In six years, four of his teams made state. Anders joined Tift’s staff in 2014 as defensive coordinator for John Reid.

He will join a loaded staff at Colquitt.

Alan Rodemaker is offensive coordinator for the Packers. Former Thomas County Central coach Bill Shaver is on staff and, earlier this year, Colquitt added former Hillgrove head Byron Slack. Anders said he was a graduate assistant at Auburn with Slack.
