2023 summer sports camps announced

The 2023 summer sports camp list will continue to be updated as more information is received.

ABAC tennis beginners/youth camp: June 5-7, from 9-noon each day. This camp is for players ages 8-13 and will take place at the Red Hill Athletic Center. Cost is $150. A T-shirt will be given at the end of camp. Players must provide their own equipment and a hat and sunscreen are suggested. Tiftarea Academy football: June 5-7, 8:30-11:30 a.m. each day. This camp is for rising 1st-8th graders. Cost is $65. Panthers head coach Erik Soliday said campers will work on basic skills and fundamentals. Form available at Tiftarea Academy’s website, via the summer camps link.

Little Fillie Softball Camp: June 6, from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Camp takes place at ABAC, for softball players in 1st-5th grade. Cost is $99. Current Fillies players and coaching staff will teach fundamentals to players. Players will need to bring their own equipment and a change of clothes. Little Fillie Softball Camp: June 7, from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. This camp at ABAC is for older softball players, grades 6-8. Current Fillies players and coaching staff will teach fundamentals to players. Tift County Wrestling: June 8-10. June 8 will be a beginners’ camp (with at least one year of experience), said coach Billy King, with more advanced wrestlers (at least two years of experience) coming in June 10-11. Camp will be at Eighth Street Middle. Beginners will start at 9 a.m., with the advanced group from 9-11:30 a.m. and an afternoon session that begins at 1 p.m. Contact wrestling coaches for more details.

TCHS Volleyball Youth Camp: June 12-14, from 9 a.m. until noon each day at the Tift County High gym. Open to girls in grades 3-8. Registration is $100, which includes a T-shirt, daily snack and lunch on June 14. Parents are invited to watch their child play at 11 a.m. on the final day of camp. ABAC tennis intermediate/advanced camp: June 12-15. There will be two sessions, $150 each, from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., or both sessions for $250 with lunch provided. Players must have spent a year on a junior varsity or varsity team. A T-shirt will be given at the end of camp. The morning session will focus on fundamentals, with afternoon concentrating on matchplay. Players will have to provide their own equipment. A hat and sunscreen are suggested. Blue Devil Summer Baseball/Softball Camp: June 12-16, from 8 a.m. until noon each day.  Cap is open for baseball and softball players who are rising 1st graders, all the way through rising 8th graders. Tiftarea Academy Kiddie Cheer Camp: June 13-15, 9 a.m. until noon each day. Camp will take place at the Tiftarea gym and is for rising Pre-K girls through 5th grade. Cost is $75, which covers the cost of camp and a T-shirt. Each day will be themed, with Princess Day on Tuesday, Disney Day on Wednesday and Spirit Day (blue and gold) on Thursday. Tift County Basketball Youth Camp: June 20-22, 9 a.m.-noon each day. Camp will be at Tift County High for rising kindergarteners through 5th graders. Cost is $70 if paid by June 6 or $80 if paid afterwards. Price includes a T-shirt. Campers must provide own snacks. Lady Devils head coach Julie Conner and players will instruct. ABAC Summer Soccer Camp: June 20-23, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day. This camp invites players ages kindergarten-5th grade. ABAC Fillies and coaching staff will lead, and will focus on soccer in the morning and outdoor activities in the afternoon, including pool time. Cost is $175. Players must furnish their own equipment and swimming gear. Camp will be held on the soccer field, but indoors at Gressette Gym if raining.
