No gas today
"It's been calculated that if everyone in this country did not buy a drop of gas today, the oil companies would choke on their stockpiles. It would hit the industry with a loss of billions of dollars which affects the bottom line. So everyone should boycott buying gas today. It affects the cost of everything We can make a difference."
It's on the parents
"It's graduation time again and people are complaining because their kids aren't going to get to walk the field because they have not passed the test. Parents, you knew this test was coming. Everybody knew it. You know you got to pass it. I don't care if your kids go to school 20 or 30 years. If they can't pass it, don't blame the school system. Don't blame the government. Don't blame the state. It is your responsibility to raise your kids and not the government's."
Too far back
"This is a suggestion for First Methodist Church in Tifton. Grandparents, aunts and uncles in back pews cannot see your graduation program or their grandchildren or their nieces and nephews. Suggestion, put them up on some sort of platform or remove your podium and let them stand there, up higher. This is very frustrating to the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. I think you had a great program if only I had been able to enjoy and see it."
Move it on over
"Hey all you good buddies out there. All you truckers listen. We SUVs, cars and pickups cannot get in the right lane to exit at our destinations. You are crowding the exits good buddies. Move to the left."
The correct call
"This is a Rave for Mr. Phillips at N.E. school in Tifton. A big rave for him in making an executive decision to let the girls where flip flops. I think there are more important issues. I think he agrees."
Unfair to students
"Thanks to the person with the comment of unfair treatment of graduation students. If a child 'passes' all 12 grades, then he/she deserves to the right to make that walk and receive their diploma! If the school system has done their 'job' correctly and they pass them, then the other test should not matter. You cannot imagine the damage it does to this child. Even though he/she has successfully completed the 12 grades, without that diploma, the kids have an extremely hard time getting a decent job. Every child is not created equal, but they can be treated equal."
Defend our borders
"The war in Iraq is a waste of American lives and tax money. If we would bring our soldiers home and post them at our own borders, we wouldn't have to worry about national security, not that I believe it is in jeopardy, but if it is, it's because our government won't mind their own business and they have our military everywhere but where they need to be, here, defending America."
"About the GI's in trouble for mistreating prisoners, if you have ever been in the service, you should know that you follow orders or get in trouble. I hear some people saying you do not have to obey an order that is unlawful. If you have ever been there, you know that it is impossible to tell if an order is unlawful. Take the officer to court and leave the non-coms alone."
