TIFTON – Tift County has reported eight new COVID-19 cases in the past week, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health Friday.
Tift County has reported 98 COVID-19-related deaths since the start of the pandemic, according to the GDPH. The county records 29 probable COVID-19-related deaths.
Tift County has reported 3,471 cases since the pandemic began last year, according to the GDPH, and 1,471 antigen cases – which is two lower than what was reported early in the week; antigen cases are results from rapid virus tests. Health officials have said some numbers are misrepresented due to errors such as mistyping data.
The county has reported 418 Tift residents have been hospitalized because of the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, according to the GDPH.
