TIFTON - Tift County Schools released a statement extending the Yellow status until Friday, Jan. 29.
"Think of Yellow as the 'in between' of a Green designation and a Red designation," school officials said in the statement. "In Yellow, we are not in as good of standing as Green, but not as severe as Red."
Green designation means the school is operating in regular session Monday through Friday and Red designation means students and faculty must learn and work from home virtually.
Yellow designation allows the school to operate with extra precautions in place as needed by the administration, the school system said.
"Please understand, regardless of a Green, Yellow or Red designation, all students will be receiving instruction and will be expected to produce work every day on the school calendar," school officials said. "It simply may look different based on the delivery model."
