TIFTON – Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough asked the community to come together and provide financial support for first responders who had their properties destroyed as a result of the tornados in Coweta County.Â
Scarbrough said he has been in communication with Coweta County Sheriff Lenn Wood about the situation after the tornado. Wood told Scarbrough that people can call Norma Haynes with the Newnan Coweta Public Safety Foundation to find out how they can help.Â
"Ms. Haynes informed me that several first responders in Coweta County suffered severe damage to their homes and property and are in need of financial support during this critical time of recovering their losses,"Â Scarbrough said.
Haynes can be reached by calling (678) 378-5051 and Scarbrough said she will explain the needs of first responders.Â
"Ms. Haynes expressed their appreciation for any help that we could provide," Scarbrough said.Â
