TIFTON — PLIGHT, Inc. attended the 24th Barbara A. Williams Annual Retreat on Aug. 16-18 in Savannah, according to a press release.
The purpose of the meeting was to set the calendar for the organization’s activities for the 2019-2020 year, the release states. Dates for activities for the first quarter were set beginning with the Tutorial program, which will begin Sept. 8 at Eighth Street and Northeast Middle Schools. The program is an after school activity for children who need a academic assistance.
The Excellence in Parenting Banquet will be held on Nov. 21 to celebrate special parents. The Red Ribbon activity will be held at the middle schools in October. The Martin Luther King, Jr., breakfast is set for Jan. 20, 2020. PLIGHT, Inc. will celebrate the holiday with “A day on, not a day off” with the community.
Other programs will be offered to the community at large and will be announced at a later date.
PLIGHT, Inc. will solicit and accept new members throughout the year, the release states. PLIGHT, Inc.’s regular monthly meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at the Neighborhood Community Service Center on South Central Avenue at 6 p.m.
