TIFTON — Being a part of Tifton for more than 20 years, the Tift Avenue McDonald's is again open for business, with some up-to-date renovations.

Opening in 1993, the McDonald's remained the same for several years until was rebuilt 10 years later. Now, it's been remodeled.

After a brief period of construction lasting a little more than a month, the fast-food restaurant reopened its doors Nov. 4, welcoming guests to a new lobby, renovated parking lot and the addition of new updated technology to improve customer experiences.

McD Ribbon Cutting

Held bright and early to kick off the reopening as soon as possible, the ribbon-cutting ceremony saw the attendance of members of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce, employees of the Tift Avenue McDonald's and their close friends and family.

The restaurant's new lobby area features a set of terminals where guests can order digitally rather than at the counter, making it easier for patrons to order their food, store representatives said. More electrical outlets were installed throughout the store as well, including USB ports to provide more accessibility and comfort to customers.

"We just want to be a place where people can come and enjoy their food and hang out if they so choose," said Tarus Morgan, the store supervisor. "There's not a lot of places to just go and hang out here in Tifton, so this will hopefully be a place where people can go and enjoy their food and enjoy some conversation."

A Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony was held opening day to commemorate the grand reopening. Employees and their families were treated to a free meal the previous night during a tour of the new facility alongside their families.

The Tift Avenue McDonald's is located at 1816 Tift Ave., near Walmart Neighborhood Market and Red Owl Coffee Company. For more information, call (229) 382-5022.
