Alice P. Davis
ST. SIMONS ISLAND - Alice Mae Padgett Davis, 89, of St. Simons Island, formerly of Tifton, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at The Brian Center in St. Simons.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakridge Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Jones will officiate.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Ty Ty.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors' Tiftarea Chapel.
Born Feb. 2, 1912, in Cherokee County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Herman Greenberry Padgett and Eunice Cloud Padgett, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Ralph Davis; one daughter, Grace Jones; two sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter.
A longtime resident of Tift County, she was a homemaker and a member of Ty Ty First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davis is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gwinnette and Walker Mitchell of Brunswick; one sister, Doris Yarbrough of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors' Tiftarea Chapel is in charge of arrangements.Evelyn Bryan Clark, 88, of Sylvester, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Banks Funeral Chapel in Sylvester, with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Clark is survived by five sons, Thomas E. Clark of Warwick, Solomon Cottle Clark of Oceanport, N.J., Sanders "Sandy" Clark of Albany, T. Wendell Clark of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Buddy Clark of Flowery Branch; two sisters, Willie Dickens of Omega and Merle Perryman of Sylvester; and two brothers, Billy Marchant of Tifton and Wright Marchant of Excelsior. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Banks Funeral Home.
Grady Earl Johnson, 55, of Jersey City, N.J., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at Jersey City Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Taylor and Son Funeral Home of Tifton.
Mark Ashley Javetz, 38, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. Javetz is survived by his wife, Andrea Javetz of Savannah; two daughters, Hallie and Jenny Javetz of Savannah; his mother, Linda Kaminsky Nash of Atlanta; his father, Harold Javetz of Savannah; two sisters, Paren Hardison of Atlanta and Lainie Saul of Savannah; and two brothers, Jay and Scott Javetz of Savannah. Baker Funeral Home in Savannah was in charge of arrangements.
