Betty Lou Chambless

TIFTON -- Betty Lou Mashburn Chambless, 65, of Tifton, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at Tift Health Care.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carpenter Road Church of God. The Rev. Ronnie Luke will officiate. Burial will follow at Waterloo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Bennett, Ferrell Bennett, Mike Nelson, Brad Grubbs, Geedie Simmons and Henry Harnage.

The B-staff of Tift Health Care Wing II will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Born Dec. 2, 1937, in Tift County, Mrs. Chambless was the daughter of Lucille Matthews Mashburn of Tifton and the late Doyle William Mashburn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Ray Chambless, and one daughter, Bertha Lou Mobley.

A lifetime resident of Tift County, Mrs. Chambless was a retired salesperson and a member of Carpenter Road Church of God.

She is survived by three sons, David Mobley of Ashburn, Randy Mobley of Tifton and Danny Mobley of Sycamore; one daughter, Janice Ethridge of Tifton; two brothers, Royce Mashburn of Michigan and Carlton Mashburn of Tifton; three sisters, Marie Luna of Michigan, Brenda Bennett of Sparks and Bertha Ann Grubbs of Tifton; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.



Cauley Edward Hancock

TIFTON -- Cauley Edward Hancock, 59, of Tifton, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Chapel Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. John S. Gibbs Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Vickers Holiness Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Zack Clark, Andy Bromlow, William Bromlow, Kyle Webb, Wayne Spell and Randy Bromlow.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Born May 13, 1943, in Berrien County, Mr. Hancock was the son of Ethridge Cauley Hancock and Oraline Conger Hancock Statham, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Hancock, and one brother, Kenneth Hancock.

Mr. Hancock was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Murphy Hancock of Tifton; one son, Timothy Hancock of Tifton; four daughters, Tina Hancock, Penny Turner, Shannon Hancock and Vickie McGlashan, all of Tifton; two sisters, Cloise Peters of Eldorado and Francis Hancock of Tifton; and 12 grandchildren.

TIFTON -- Shirley Myrle Prince Hudson, 68, of Tifton, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Tifton. Dr. W. Wayne Roe and Dr. W. Ches Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bennie Prince, Martin Prince, Bobby Palmer, R. B. Gaineus, Sonny Cox, Esdell Prince, Wendell Prince, Manous Courtney and Steve Thompson.

The Gardeners Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Hospice of Tift Area or First Baptist Church, Tifton, Memorial Fund.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, Tiftarea Chapel.

Born Oct. 10, 1934, in Cairo, Mrs. Hudson was the daughter of Jerry Donald Prince and Hazel Gainous Prince, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Hudson.

Mrs. Hudson was a retired preschool teacher at First Baptist Church Daycare in Tifton and a member of First Baptist Church of Tifton, where she was a member of the Gardeners Sunday School class. She was vice president and president of the Tift County High School Band Parents Association.

Mrs. Hudson was an avid gardener and R.V. camper.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Scott Hudson and Kaycee Brown of Smyrna; one daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Dean McAllister of Acworth; one brother, Jerry "Jack" Prince of Ca
