Raymond Michael Kundrat

TIFTON -- Raymond Michael Kundrat, 60, of Tifton, died January 30, 2002 from complications following an automobile accident. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, Mt. Calvary Methodist Church.

The Rev. Judy White will officiate. Kundrat's cremated remains will be interred at a later date.

Memorials should be given in Ray's memory to the Mt. Calvary Methodist Church.

Born on July 8, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to Dorothy Rynearson Kundrat and Michael Kundrat, he moved with his family to Madison, Ohio, where he attended elementary school. He spent his first two years of high school at Ben Lippen School in Asheville N.C. He graduated from high school in 1959 from Avondale High School in Avondale Estates, Ga. where he was in the Library, A-V, and Radio Clubs.

After graduation, he attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. before transferring to ABAC in Tifton where he completed his associate degree in 1962.

Ray managed a number of motels in Tifton and the surrounding area for about 25 years. During this time, he was a ham radio operator and active in church work, teaching Sunday school and singing in the church choir. He cared for his mother in his home until her death in 1990. In 1991, he took a position as Field Auditor with the Milner Hotel chain based in Detroit, Mich. For the next six years, he traveled extensively throughout the United States for his work and enjoyed personal trips to Mexico, Canada and China. In 1997, he returned to Tifton where he was a valued member of the Mt. Calvary Methodist Church until the time of his accident and subsequent death.

The quotation, "He was the Mildest mannered man," which appeared under Ray's picture in his high school senior yearbook was descriptive of his personality. He was a cat and kitten lover and enjoyed science fiction movies and giving presents to people he cared for. He was known for his ability to use tools and to fix things. He is survived by two sisters, Barbara and Kay, and was preceded in death by his parents.



Kitty McClellan Howell

TY TY -- Katherine "Kitty" Lorene McClellan Howell, 37, of Ty Ty, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jim Burgess will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 4001 N. Tift Ave.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Born Oct. 28, 1964, in Americus, Mrs. Howell was the daughter of Jeanette Powell McClellan of Tifton and the late Rev. William Alexander McClellan III.

She was a student at Tift Tech and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Along with her mother, Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband, David Powell of Ty Ty; three brothers, William "Billy" Alexander McClellan IV of Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, John Gregory McClellan of Warner Robins and Matthew Thomas McClellan of Tifton; and one sister, Mary Helen McClellan of Tifton.

Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.



Bebe Harper Russell

TIFTON -- Bebe Harper Russell, 61, of Tifton, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson. The Rev. Gary Cadwell will officiate. The eulogy will be given by Rick Ellis. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andy Russell, Sam Russell, Bates Russell Jr., Michael Horton, Chad Maxwell, Robby McClure and Tony Roberson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Paulhill, Hansel Steedley, Daniel Jackson, Jim Isdell, Joe Isdell, Jerry Horton, Al Russell and Bill Russell.

Born July 21,1940, in Tift County, Mrs. Russell was the daughter of Bates Cleve Harper and Mozelle Simmons Harper, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Winford Alfred Russell.

Mrs. Russell was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

d Teresa L. Russell and Bates L. and Betty Russell, all of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Freda and Perry Horton of Tifton; seven grandchildren, Andy Russell, Sam Russell, Bates Russell Jr., Brad Russell, Jennifer Jackson, Sandy Jackson and Michael Horton; and two step great-grandchildren.
