Mary Kilgore Bryant Stafford
BYRON -- Mary Kilgore Bryant Stafford, 96, of Byron, died Thursday, August 8, 2002 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home. The Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. J.A. Clements will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 11, 1906 in Haralson County, Mrs. Stafford was the daughter of D.B. Kilgore and Rene Dryden Kilgore, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Irwinville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her first husband Lee Bryant and her second husband J.L. Stafford.
She is survived by one son, Virgil Bryant of Byron; two stepsons, Rentz Stafford of Moultrie and Paul Stafford of Columbus; one daughter and son-in-law, Luden and Harold Griner of Tifton; two stepdaughters, Minnie Lee Tomlinson of Perry and Doris Burdett of Greenville, Fla.; two brothers, Gordon Kilgore of Irwinville and George Kilgore of Fitzgerald; one sister, Rosa Lee Jones of Florida; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lamar Rentz
NASHVILLE -- Lamar Rentz, 76, of Nashville, died Friday, August 9, 2002 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Southerland and the Rev. Richard Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. at Lovein Funeral Home.
Born June 2, 1926 in Colquitt County, Mr. Rentz was the son of Leffie Eugene Rentz and Ila Odessa Ross. He was a retired pharmacist and was part owner of Berrien Drug Store. He was a member of Nashville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was also a veteran of World War II where he served in the Navy.
Mr. Rentz is survived by his wife, Helen Dunlap Rentz of Nashville; three daughters, Patricia Barrentine and Rita Gandy of Nashville and Kay Bennett of Sylvester; two sons, David Rentz of Central, S.C. and Keith Rentz of Kissimmee, Fla.; one brother, D.E. Rentz of Palatka, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
