TIFTON -- No one was arrested after a man admitted to firing a shotgun in a Sunday shoot-out in Tifton.
Larry Charles Colquitt, 46, told the Tifton Police Department that at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a man known to him as "Blade" came into his yard on Poplar Street. Colquitt said "Blade" began shooting at him with a handgun.
Colquitt said he went inside his home, retrieved a Shinn-A-Sipja .410-gauge shotgun and returned fire at "Blade."
Police responded to the scene after an E-911 call about shots fired in the area. Officers found Colquitt, who admitted to firing his shotgun.
The barrel of the scatter gun was still warm.
"Blade" could not be located.
The shotgun was confiscated as evidence by the officers and Colquitt was issued a citation for discharging a firearm within the city limits. He was not arrested.
