TIFTON -- Thursday, a Tift County grand jury in its second session this year returned indictments against defendants charged with various felony crimes, including those related to illegal drug manufacture and sale, assaults, robberies and batteries.
*Christopher Bernard Dixon, 34, 4117 Wesley Chapel Road, for allegedly forcing his estranged wife at gunpoint to leave with him March 30 and pointing a shotgun at her and threatening to shoot her. Dixon was indicted on counts of kidnapping and aggravated assault.
*Gordon Ray Harbin, 48, Irwin County, was indicted for the events of Sept. 18, 2002, when he is alleged to have led deputies on a high speed chase ending in Enigma when Tift County Sheriff Gary Vowell talked him into surrendering his .22-caliber revolver. Harbin was also charged with aggravated assault on a police officer for allegedly ramming his vehicle into that of a deputy's, causing the deputy to loose control of his vehicle. The grand jury indicted Harbin on counts of aggravated assault of a police officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless driving.
*Michael Anthony Goins, 17, 1805 Dallas Drive and Steven Patrick Gray, 21, 1001 Doc Melton Sr. Drive, were indicted on charges of robbery by intimidation. They were charged after the Feb. 1 incident in which two contract carriers for The Tifton Gazette were robbed of money.
*Terrell L. Watson, 24, 1112 S. Park Ave., Apt. A, was indicted on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer. The officer reported on March 28 that someone pointed a .38-caliber revolver at him while he was on foot patrol at Captain's Point Trailer Park.
*Gordon Deen Lashley, 19, 1014 E. 40th St., was indicted on charges of aggravated assault, battery (family violence) and misdemeanor obstruction after an incident on April 29 alleging that he hit one relative with a chair and another in the left eye with his fist and then ran from a deputy.
*Stacy Darnell Wilson, 33, 1113 S. Central Ave., Lot 24, was indicted on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery after he was arrested after an incident on Nov. 17 for shooting a man in his right eye.
*Roger Hobgood, 37, 3706 U.S. Highway 319 S., and James Allen Crump Jr., 28, 197 Ridgeland Drive, Valdosta, were indicted on March 26 charges of attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, four counts of possession of a fire arm during the commission of a crime, possession of methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone and possession of alprazolam.
*Gary Randall Allen, 48 and Deborah Cheryl Allen, 43, both of 1664 S. Carpenter Road, and Jermone Lavon Clark, 31 of Moultrie were indicted on the April 15 charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of cruelty to a child.
*Jeffery Lamar Acree, 24, 824 Strout Ave., Albany, was indicted on two charges of armed robbery and one count each of kidnaping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
