TIFTON -- The Tift County Sheriff's Department's Drug Unit seized drugs with a street value of more than $5,000 in a raid Tuesday at a Tifton residence and made seven arrests, officers said Wednesday.

The bust concluded a two-month investigation into activities at two apartments at 2911 Hill Ave., Drug Unit Commander Chris Owens said. A total of 20 warrants were issued with charges including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA (Ecstasy) with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property.

Arrested were Tommy L. Wade, 27, 1506 Hawthorne, Valdosta; Jason Lamar Richardson, 22, 62 Pecan St.; Brayson Doward, 26, 1210 Doc Melton Sr. Drive; Wesley White, 29, 2805 Caldwell Drive, Valdosta; Efraim Demond Dennard, 25, 706 Timmons Drive; Charles Rogers, 28, 1921 Oak St.; and Michael Foster, 31, 2911 Hill Ave. There was also an outstanding warrant on White for drug charges in Lowndes County.

The drug unit and officers with the Tift County Sheriff's Department seized just over half an ounce of cocaine, valued at $1,700; 5.7 ounces of marijuana, valued at $1,600; and 80 Ecstasy pills, valued at $2,000. Two guns were recovered, along with $1,850 in cash, packing materials for drugs, cookware for crack cocaine and scales.

All seven suspects were at the Tift County Jail as of Wednesday afternoon. Owens said the drug unit did not expect to make any more arrests in connection with the case.
