TIFTON – After a two-year effort to make her dream a reality, Navy veteran KiKi Harris-Burgess held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for her new restaurant, KiKi's Sea and Soul Kitchen.
Located right off of Interstate 75, the restaurant's menu combines seafood and soul food in many of its dishes, giving guests a taste of foods like oxtails, crab and shrimp together.
Harris-Burgess said the idea for the restaurant came from her time in the Navy and the places she visited.
"I've traveled to a lot of places, and the soul, that soul taste, that taste was missing," Harris-Burgess said. "So that's where I came up with my combination of the sea and soul."
When asked about her plans moving forward, Harris-Burgess expressed interest in opening another location in Warner Robbins once she gets her current location off the ground.
KiKi's Sea and Soul Kitchen is open at 3111 S. Central Ave., 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sundays, and closed Mondays.
