TIFTON — State troopers from the Tifton Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 34 traffic crashes during the month of January in Tift County, according to a press release.
Sergeant First Class Peter Lukas said the crashes resulted in 8 injuries and 1 fatality.
Lukas said troopers from Post 13 also issued 304 traffic citations in the county during the month, the release states. The total included seven arrest for driving under the influence, 121 citations for speeding, 56 seatbelt violations and 19 child restraint violations. Troopers also issued 378 warnings in the county.
Luke would like to encourage everyone to slow down, wear their seatbelt and put cell phones down while driving, the release states.
