TIFTON — The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal vehicle accident that took place on May 22.
Sergeant David Sellars said that the accident occurred on Lower Brookfield Road at approximately 10:30 p.m. on May 22.
According to Sellars, a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu with two occupants was traveling west on Little Brookfield Road when the accident happened.
He said the vehicle left the roadway and struck the guardrail on the south shoulder. It then turned over and landed upside down in New River, becoming fully submerged.
Sellars said that one of the occupants was killed. Neither victim names nor any potential cause of the accident have been released as the investigation is active and ongoing.
