TIFTON — State troopers from the Tifton Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 28 traffic crashes during August in Tift County.
Sgt. 1st Class Peter Lukas said the traffic crashes resulted in 16 injuries and zero fatalities.
Lukas said troopers issued 286 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total included six arrests for driving under the influence, 131 citations for speeding, 43 seatbelt violations and 15 child-restraint violations. Troopers also issued 187 warnings.
Lukas encourages everyone to slow down, wear seatbelts and don’t use a cell phone while driving.
