TIFTON — State troopers from the Tifton Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 44 traffic crashes during the month of March in Tift County, according to a press release.
Sergeant First Class Peter Lukas said the traffic crashes resulted in 31 injuries and zero fatalities.
Lukas said troopers also issued 232 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total included five arrests for driving under the influence, 81 citations for speeding, 41 seatbelt violations and 10 child restraint violations. Troopers also issued 249 warnings in the counts.
Lukas would like to encourage everyone to slow down, wear seatbelts and don’t use a cell phone while driving.
