VALDOSTA — In hopes of sharing the love of Christ during the holiday season, Highland Christian Academy Class of 2019 put together a Journey Bag for a foster-care child.

Journey Bags are backpacks filled with personal and comfort items for children to call their own when they are abruptly taken out of their homes, school officials said.

The goal of Journey Bags is to "bless these kids and let them know that they are loved, prayed for and remembered," school officials said. "This is a loving example of how our students can be salt and light to a hurting child."

Jessica Phillips is the senior homeroom teacher.
