mask giveout

Free masks are available at the Tift County EMA building, located at 316 W. 2nd St.

TIFTON — The Tift County Emergency Management Agency plans to give out 5,000 masks at the EMA building this week.

Vicki Hickman, EMA director, said that the masks are from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).

“They wanted to know if we wanted some to give out to the public,” Hickman said. “I said, ‘Absolutely.’”

Hickman and volunteers from Tift County Fire Rescue were in the EMA parking lot, located at 316 W. 2nd St., to give out masks.

Hickman said that they plan to give them out every weekday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. until they’re gone.

“That might be today, that might be Friday,” Hickman said.
