TIFTON – One Blood and the Air Evac host the John Edenfield Memorial Blood Drive 10 a.m.-3 p.m., May 3, at the Tift County Rec Department.
Edenfield was a Tift County native and firefighter and paramedic who died unexpectedly at work Sept. 6, 2020, at the age of 38, according to his obituary.
The blood drive will be dedicated in honor of him, event organizers said.
Four donation buses will be available – which is the most Tift County has had at one time, organizers said in a statement.
Event organizers said their goal is to have more than 200 individual donors to beat the record for the state of Georgia in a single day.
Appointments are open.
Event organizers ask for anyone who has come in contact with COVID-19 or has a fever to refrain from attending the blood donation event.
The Tift County Rec Department is located at 401 Victory Drive.
