TIFTON — Southwell is reporting its third death from COVID-19.
This is in addition to the first two deaths reported on Wednesday.
They now have 57 confirmed positive cases, with 21 of those inpatient at Tift Regional Medical Center, according to Southwell.
“Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families of these patients during their time of loss, and with our team who cared for these individuals,” Southwell stated in the post.
“We are incredibly saddened to make this announcement. As we continue to monitor this pandemic and provide care to our community, we recognize we will inevitably see more deaths related to COVID-19,” said Christopher K. Dorman, president/CEO of Southwell, said in a previous press release. “Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families of these patients during their time of loss.”
Southwell has tested a total of 392 patients so far. 285 of those were negative, 57 were positive and 50 patients are waiting for test results.
