TIFTON — The Tifton-Tift County Public Library is starting a curbside pickup service on June 1, according to Branch Manager Victoria Horst.
Patrons will be able to put a hold on items through the library’s PINES system or fill out an online request form.
Requests can be for specific titles and/or for broader categories, such as “Five Westerns” or “10 science fiction books.”
The library will get the request ready and schedule a time for pickup.
The pickup point will be in the alley between the library and the downtown art museum.
“Follow the instructions on the signage and we will bring you your order,” Horst said in an email. “There is no need to get out of your vehicle and we appreciate you doing anything you can to keep our workers safe. Our employees will be wearing masks.”
Items will be checked out for two weeks. Renewals can be handled online or by calling the library.
To return items, leave them in the outside backdrop at the library.
Returned items will be quarantined for at least 72 hours before being available for check out.
“We are not charging fines during this time,” Horst said. “Life is complicated enough.”
The online request form is located at https://www.cprl.org/request.
Patrons can also call the library at 229-386-7148 to setup a pickup.
The Tifton-Tift County Public Library is located at 245 Love Avenue.
