TIFTON — The Leroy Rogers Senior Center, 315 West 2nd Street, is hosting a one-day AARP Driver Safety Program from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. today. Those completing this six-hour program will be eligible for a discount on their current automobile insurance premium. The cost is $14 per person, with a $2 discount for AARP members with card. AARP is celebrating an Educator Appreciation Promotion. In recognition of their generosity in teaching and helping others, current and retired educators are offered this course for only $5. The class is open to AARP members and non-members of all ages. This program will provide you with strategies for safer driving (avoiding crashes or near-crashes) and strategies to help you adjust to normal age-related physical changes that may affect driving ability. Town Hall Meeting
MACON — The Alzheimer's Association will hold a statewide Georgia Alzheimer's Town Hall Meeting in Macon from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at Vinevillle United Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Ave. The purpose of the meeting is to learn about and provide feedback into the National Plan to address Alzheimer's Disease, and to provide input into what Georgia's Plan to address Alzheimer's and Related Dementias should look like. TIFTON — An Alzheimer's Benefit Steak Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church, 404 Love Ave., sponsored by the Walk team of Cypress Pond, Maple Court and Cypress Pond at Home. Pick up tickets at Maple Court or Cypress Pond. Tickets are a minimum $30 donation to the Alzheimer's Association. Steaks will be prepared by a Sterling Silver Executive Chef.
TIFTON — The class of 1962 of Tifton High School will hold a planning meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Family Life Building of First Baptist Church. The reunion will be held in October and everyone is encouraged to help finalize the planning.

TIFTON — The Tift County Genealogical Society has both the 1910 (24X30) and 1929 (20X20) Tift County Land Maps for sale at $10 each.
