Cleanup day scheduled for Saturday

TIFTON — In honor of World Lupus Day, Tift County Commissioner Melissa Hughes will have her "One Street At A Time" cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The cleanup will begin at the corner of Highway 41 South and Elm Street. All supporters and students are encouraged to volunteer.

Hughes said May 10 was World Lupus Day, but "we have people in our community that suffer from this disease every day."

She said she had a “Trash Lupus Day” planned for May 10 but had to reschedule it to this Saturday.

"We have purple trash bags that we will use to put trash in. They were donated by Professional Court Services to show support of Trash Lupus Day and every day," she said.

For more information, contact Hughes at 326-0241.
