Carlton VanMarter Hall

TY TY — Carlton VanMarter Hall, 93, of Ty Ty, formerly of Ithaca, N.Y., died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ithaca, N.Y.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Hall residence at 60 Monk Road in Ty Ty.

Mr. Hall was born on Aug. 1, 1920 in Detroit, Mich. and was the son of Fred Hall and Margaret VanMarter Hall, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred Hall. He was retired from NCR in Ithaca, N.Y. and was a member of Caroline Valley Federated Church in Brooktondale, N.Y.

Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 74 years, Bernice Munch Hall of Ty Ty, formerly of Ithaca, N.Y.; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jendy Hall of Ty Ty; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruthann and Peter Brown of Ithaca, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Robert K. Hall of Phoenix, Ariz., Kristi Morgan of Ty Ty, Nicholas Brown of Australia and Nathaniel Brown of Newfield, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Orson Ledger of Brooktondale, N.Y.; a sister, Evelyn Watson of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Those desiring may make contributions to the Slaterville Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company, P.O. Box 190, Slaterville Springs, N.Y. 14881.

Services for the Hall family are under the care and direction of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
