George Leon Garren

TIFTON — George Leon Garren, 51, of Tifton died at his residence Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, with his son, Leon GarrenJr., officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. today until service time.

Born on Dec. 6, 1960 to George Shelton and Patricia Jean Durley Garren, Mr. Garren was a self-employed heating/air-conditioning contractor.  He loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed playing sports, billiards and playing cards with his grandson.  Mr. Garren was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Garren is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Leon ”Rooster” Garren Jr and Pam, James “Buck” Garren and Waylon Garren, all of East Dublin; his brother and sister-in-law, Lamar and Lee Garren of Tifton; his sister and brother-in-law Missy and Albert Hill of Tifton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Jenny Lumley; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
