Rants & Raves - December 4

I was at the City Council meeting Monday night and I must say I was ashamed of our mayor. He acted like a 6-year-old not getting his way. Yelling like a buffoon, so very unprofessional. Please grow up, Mr. Cater. Also, Mr. Parrot and Mr. Terrell, you need to make a decision on your own. Do not just parrot the mayor.
The amount of disrespect the mayor shows for council members who question him is embarrassing to the whole city, in my opinion.
I heard the mayor didn't act very professional at Monday night's City Council meeting and I am sure The Gazette will not report on that!
I thought for sure the city council's 3-to-2 controversy over the DDA would have been reported, but was conveniently left out. I would like to thank Marianna Keesee and Julie Smith for standing up for the DDA and trying to do what's right. Shame on The Gazette for not making mention of this. Mayors and councilmen come and go; The Gazette needs to be true to it's readers.
People are forever complaining about losing their liberty but nobody ever gives any specific examples. The Bill of Rights was still in place the last time I looked.
On Dec. 2, on Union Road right before Steak-n-Shake, my husband and I ran out of gas. We want to thank the man who pulled over and helped push our truck to the gas station a 1/2 mile away. We also want to thank the other three men who helped to push the truck up the hill. Many blessings to your and your families. There are still good Chrisitian people in this world. Thanks again for your help and God bless you all!
I was upset and called The Gazette because I attended the City Council meeting Monday night and yet there was nothing in the paper about the mayor’s behavior and the way he and other council members bickered. I was told that they decided to focus the article on Tuesday’s front page on Marianna Keesee, because of her years of service, and that an article was planned for Wednesday about the rest of the items on the agenda at that meeting. After I thought about it, I realized that was the way to go. Mrs. Keesee, you deserve the front page for your years of service. Thank you.
