Crash near Irwinville takes the life of one, injures two others


According to a report from Ben Hill County Sheriff Bobby McLemore, one person has been killed and two others injured on Highway 125, near Irwinville. 

The accident happened about 1 p.m. when a minivan crossed the center line of the highway and hit a pickup truck head-on. The driver of the minivan was killed, while the driver of the pickup, as well as the passenger, were injured. One of them was flown to a nearby hospital.

According to reports the road is blocked due to the accident. A Hazmat team is on site due to chemicals in the truck. A Facebook post by Irwin County's 911 indicates that drivers should avoid this area of Highway 125 until the investigation is complete.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash, and we will bring you details as soon as they are released.
