Man shot, killed in Nashville


 According to law enforcement, a man was shot in Nashville early Saturday morning.

At around 2 a.m. Saturday, a Nashville police officer out on patrol saw a crowd of people near the intersection of Marion Avenue and Mathis Street. As he approached, some of those present began to yell that someone had been shot.

Witnesses on the scene told the officer that a black male had left the Blue Swan, a local night spot located on Marion, and had shot a man outside the club, then fled on foot.

The victim has been identified as Cornelius Rashawn Miller, 23, of Lakeland. He was transported to South Georgia Medical Center, where he later died.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in and are assisting the Nashville Police Department in the search for the suspect. Law enforcement throughout the area were told Saturday afternoon to be on the lookout for a black male driving a tan PT cruiser.

Police Chief chuck Edwards has asked that anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect should contact the Nashville Police Department at 229-686-7666 or the GBI at 912-389-4103.
