Gladys Lamb Griner

LENOX — Gladys Lamb Griner, 79, of Lenox passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton. The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lenox Christian Fellowship Church in Lenox. The Rev. Jimmie Hinson and the Rev. Bill Clayton will officiate. Interment will follow at Lenox City Cemetery.

Mrs. Griner was born July 7, 1934 in Adel to the late Aarmon H. and Grace Gibbs Lamb. She lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Fla. before moving back to Cook County in 1996. She worked as a homemaker and a bookkeeper with Art Reinertson Construction Company in Jacksonville. She attended Lenox Christian Fellowship Church.

Mrs. Griner is survived by her husband of 63 years, John “Sonny” Griner Jr. of Lenox; two sons, David Griner and John Griner III, both of Lenox; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Wayne Kiser of Callahan, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nadine Jentry and Dorothy Williams.

Mrs. Griner’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home, located at 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel.
