L.C. Simpson

TIFTON — L.C. Simpson, 74, of Tifton died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. A.D. Connell and the Rev. Gerald Lee will officiate with burial to follow at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Richard Purvis, Jamie Purvis, Jeff Dove, Charlie Horton, John Davis and Edward Horton will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Simpson was born Jan. 7, 1940 in Tift County and was the son of Curtis Simpson and Leonia Goddard Simpson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Simpson and Robert Simpson; and a sister, Mavis Purvis. He was the owner of Simpson Contracting Company and was a member of New River Free Holiness Church in Berrien County. He collected tractors and enjoyed his horses.

Mr. Simpson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Curt and Joann Simpson and Tony and Mary Simpson, all of Tifton; a daughter, Pam Simpson of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Janice Simpson and Randall and Mary Simpson, all of Tifton; four grandchildren, David Simpson, Justin Simpson, Laeken Simpson and Haley Simpson; a great-grandchild, Aubrey Simpson; and two step-great-grandchildren, Cayden Phillips and Ryder Propes.

Services for the Simpson family are under the care and direction of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
