Brenda Kay Lockerman McKuhen

TIFTON — Brenda Kay Lockerman McKuhen, 59, of Tifton died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County. The Rev. Don Harris will officiate with a eulogy to be given by Wilbur Haman. Dustin Scarboro, Alvin Brooks, Wilbur Haman, Josh Barfield, Lamar Pitts, DeWayne Haman and Jeff Fulghum will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of New Bethel Baptist Church in Tifton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County.

Mrs. McKuhen was born Nov. 11, 1954 in Cook County and was the daughter of George Milton and Mary Magdalene Gay Lockerman, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Nichols. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Tifton.

Mrs. McKuhen is survived by her husband, James McKuhen of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Zach and Erica Steed and Billy and Jeannie Steed, all of Tifton; one daughter, Shannon Fulghum of Tifton; one brother, George "Buddy" Lockerman of Sarasota, Fla.; three sisters, Carol Haman of Sylvester, Linda Faye Herbst of Tifton and Judy Canady of Texas; and four grandchildren, Dustin Scarboro, Brandon Steed, Brian Steed and Olivia Steed.

Condolences may be sent to the family at the online guest registry at www.bowen-donaldson.com. Services for the McKuhen family are under the care and direction of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
