Troopers busy during holiday weekend

TIFTON — The Georgia State Patrol Post 13 made numerous traffic stops, issuing more than 200 citations, over the Fourth of July holiday period, which was from 6 p.m. Thursday to midnight Sunday.

Post 13's area of enforcement includes Tift, Cook and Berrien counties.

Cpl. Massey said troopers made 366 traffic stops. They issued 265 citations (which includes 44 seat belt citations, six child restraint citations and 145 speeding citations) and 255 warnings. They made 10 DUI arrests and investigated 10 accidents that resulted in five injuries. There were no fatalities.
