Rants & Raves - May 14

This is a shout-out to the candidate Patty Veazey. She was out at the Relay for Life at EBC as a survivor. I think this was a great testament to the type of person she is not only as a candidate but more importantly a person. We need more personable individuals in our government. People with good moral values as she demonstrated by taking the time to talk to each and every individual that she encountered or that encountered her. Great job.
The coaches at G.O. Bailey put on a great field day. I have seen a lot of school activities but those guys are tops.
A rave to the students at the Tifton High school who allow motorists to enter (or exit) into the travel way of Kent Road around 3:30 p.m., when school dismisses – a very long line of vehicles on Kent Road at that time and without the student courtesy it would be require 10-15 minutes to gain access onto Kent Road or exit from Kent Road. Much of this traffic is older people related to medical attention. This courtesy is noted to be extended by both sexes and all races but large pickup trucks are not always so considerate. Thank you young people.
In reference to the band performance on May 8: The band gave a stellar performance. The seventh grade band was exceptional! They played like professionals, so mature, so eloquent. The music was very chilling! Mr. Pellitteri, you taught the children well. They were impressive. I am proud to have my child in band.
Mr. Carter and drama club. Another great successful play! The actors and actresses were eloquent, poised and brillant. Great job guys. Everyone was so proud!
This is a rave for a little league and a father who is now coaching first and second graders in baseball or it might be softball for the Rec Department. I am just a grandparent, and he is so kind and patient with these little boys. Father of the Year, Brad Moretz.
