Blue Devils 1-AAAAAA runners-up

TIFTON — The Tift County Blue Devils now know where they stand in regards to their seed in the state playoffs.

The Devils swept Camden County at Kingsland Friday night to wrap up the No. 2 slot.

Tift County head coach Kyle Kirk said Saturday that the team won their games 6-3 and 11-6.

He also confirmed a first round playoff opponent for the team.

Friday, they are scheduled to host the Tri-Cities Bulldogs in a doubleheader.

The Bulldogs were the No. 3 team out of their region and have won their last six consecutive games, and eight of their last 11. According to MaxPreps, they have won a total of eight games.

East Coweta was Region 3’s top seed.

If the Blue Devils win the series, they will face the No. 1 seed out of Region 4 or the No. 4 from Region 2.

Tift County is 20-4-1 for the season. Three of the losses were in their own region, including one to Coffee last week that cost them the region title.
