Douglas man arrested for possible medical item threat

TIFTON — A Douglas man was arrested Monday for entering automobiles and burglary in connection with some medical items that went missing from local ambulances.

Lt. Col. Bobby Brannen with the Tift County Sheriff’s Office said Investigator Matt Ruberson charged 23-year-old Calvin Lamar Scott of 346 Batten Ext., Lot 8, in Douglas with four counts of entering an automobile to commit theft and one count of second degree burglary.

Brannen said these charges were filed in connection with medical items that were taken from ambulances at Hope Emergency Medical Service. The incidents occurred between July 1, 2013 and April 5 of this year.
