Ruth Vance Morley

TIFTON — Ruth Vance Morley died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.  She was born Jan. 26, 1936 to Lucile Moore and William Hoyt Vance Sr. Ruth graduated from Tift High School in 1954 and completed her associate degree from ABAC. She married Leland Scott Morley in 1957 while attending the University of Georgia and graduated the following year. Together they raised two children and built a successful veterinary practice. She was a member of Ty Ty United Methodist Church and PEO.

Mrs. Morley is survived by her husband, Leland Scott Morley; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Betty Morley; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Alfred Crabtree; three grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers, and a large family and many friends.

The family will receive friends at First United Methodist Church of Tifton  from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday and the service will begin at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Tifton, 107 12th Street, Tifton, GA 31794; Ty Ty United Methodist Church, 144 South Church Street, Ty Ty, GA 31795; or Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 3350 Riverwood Parkway, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30339. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.bowen-donaldson.com. Services are being directed by Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
