Rants & Raves - December 13

I enjoy Tift County football and basketball. I enjoy talking with friends at the games. Why is the music so loud that I can't enjoy that part of the experience? The fans that support these programs don't enjoy the loud music that is often obscene if you listen to the lyrics.
I would like to thank the First Community Bank of Tifton for honoring the Tiftarea retired teachers on Wednesday. What a wonderful meal as well as appreciation gift, we certainly appreciate you. I enjoy being able to say, "That’s my bank!”
I agree, littering is littering and should be charged accordingly. Farmers get to litter and not be charged which is selective enforcement. Where are the code enforcement people when you need them? Oh, they are worried about some weeds that are too high.
Pretrial intervention is a joke here in Tifton. Why are people still walking the streets that have been busted for drugs and still doing drugs? Whoever is in charge is not doing their job.
While driving through Georgia last Saturday, we had car trouble on I-75 near Tifton. I would like to compliment your city for all of the kindness and support that was given my family. From the sheriff’s deputy who waited with us until a tow came and drove us to the repair shop, to the McKee Auto repair shop who went the extra mile to help us, everyone was very kind and helpful. Darryl McKee and his employee drove us to a motel and picked us up after the car was fixed. My mother needed dialysis while we were stranded in Tifton for a couple of days and Tift Regional Hospital was able to give her the needed service. Be proud of your citizens, Tifton.
