Barbara Sue Rowan

ENIGMA — Barbara Sue Rowan, 76, of Enigma died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at her residence. A private family interment will be held at the Enigma City Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Enigma Gym with the Rev. Mark Stone officiating. The family will receive friends in the gym following the completion of the service.

Mrs. Rowan was born Jan. 25, 1937 in Winter Haven, Fla. to the late Leo Pickard and the late Stella Rowe. She was a homemaker and retired banker with 40 years of service. She was the former Enigma branch manager for the Bank of Alapaha. She served 22 years on the Enigma City Council and was a member of the Enigma Congregational Christian Church.

Mrs. Rowan is survived by her husband, Robert Alvin “Bobby” Rowan of Enigma; two daughters, Lindie Baker of Waycross and Laurie Baker (Rick) Whitworth of Lavonia; a stepson, Edward Rowan of Athens; a stepdaughter, Ferris (Adeeb) Fakhoury of Mills River, N.C.; a brother, Bud Pickard of Enigma; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Memorials are requested to the Enigma Congregational Christian Church.

Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
