Myra Jean Padgett Lamb

LYMAN, S.C. — Myra Jean Padgett Lamb, 71, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at her home. A native of Tifton, Myra was the daughter of the late Olen P. and Edith Hasty Padgett. She was a graduate of Tift County High School, attended Mercer University in Macon and graduated from Macon Hospital School of Nursing with her certificate as a registered nurse. Mrs. Lamb worked as a nurse with Veterans Administration Hospital in Georgia and Alabama and with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in Sacramento, Calif. Mrs. Lamb was a member of Lyman United Methodist Church for more than 40 years and taught the Lady’s Bible School Class for more than 20 of those years. She was director of the Lyman United Methodist Daycare for a number of years. Mrs. Lamb had a second career as branch supervisor of the Middle Tyger Library in Lyman during the construction phase and retired from the Library in 1998.

Survivors include her husband, Frank S. Lamb for more than 50 years; a daughter, Karen Lamb Kuebel and husband Norman of Simpsonville; and a sister, Marjorie P. Goode and husband Hollis of Tifton.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lyman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Gilmer officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service.
