Coy E. Glenn Jr., 75, of Tifton, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Donnie Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, Cordele. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.
Born Feb. 15, 1938 in Union, S.C. to the late Coy E. Glenn Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Hornaday Glenn, he was also preceded in death by a brother, John Glenn and his father-in-law, Randall Lanier Lovette. Mr. Glenn graduated from high school in Union, S.C. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves. Mr. Glenn was the paint manager for Short and Paulk, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton. Mr. Glenn was an avid football and Atlanta Braves fan who also enjoyed camping and cooking out.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sherry Lovette Glenn of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Craig and Maureen Glenn of Longwood, Fla. and Terry Scot and Andrea Glenn of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca Joan Glenn of Tifton; eight grandchildren, John Glenn, Rachael Glenn, David Glenn, Christopher Glenn, Sara Glenn, Kayla Glenn, Tyler Glenn and Justin Glenn; one great grandchild, Devyn Sand; mother-in-law, Christine Adams Lovette of Tifton; a brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Sarah Lovette of Andersonville; sister-in-law, Diane Glenn of Union, S.C. as well as several nieces and nephews.
